1) Open bag and spread an 1/8 cup of pork rind pellets on a paper plate or paper towel
HELPFUL HINT: Preparing on a china, pottery or plastic plates can affect pork rind cooking performance and may damage your plate.
2) Place in microwave for approximately 3 minutes**
HELPFUL HINT: Because microwave vary in wattage, age and performance, consider your first batch to be a test batch. Start with a time of 3 minutes, when the pellets have finished puffing, stop microwave and make a note as to the cook time. If some of the pellets don't puff up all the way (often happens) or if a few burn, adjust the time up or down by ten or fifteen seconds. Julia's Pantry Microwave Pork Rinds don't make any noise as they puff up and they don't splatter when cooking.
3) Remove from microwave and allow to cool. Grab a cold beverage and enjoy!
HELPFUL HINT: After enjoying the cooking show and have been removed from the microwave, they pork rinds will snap, cracklin' and pop! This will continue for a few seconds. Let sit for about 30 seconds after cooking to achieve that crunchy taste. If you pop up more than you can eat, keep them in a zip lock bag for later.
Don't have a microwave? No worries. Our Chef Piggy Tail's cook up extra crunchy in the oven, too. Simply heat oven to 450 degrees and spread pork rind pellets on a baking sheet. Bake 5-10 minutes until puffed. Cool and enjoy.
